Not only was it made clear that papa didn’t raise a murderer but it was also brought to my attention that these criminals were more than their labels. The fact that Moscow – another criminal partaking in the heist – was horrified when he believed that his son killed the hostage speaks volumes. The following scene introduced me to Moscow, Denver’s father, who was having a nightmare of his son murdering Mónica since he was under the impression that Denver did indeed kill her. Right away, I was very fascinated at how Denver – a criminal – still had a sense of morality in him and cared about the life of a woman that he was holding captive. My sister then informed me of the backstory of how Denver refused to submit to Berlin’s orders in killing Mónica but instead shot her in the leg as she allowed him to do so to fake her death.
The very first character that my eyes laid upon was Denver in the scene from episode 4 of season 1 when he was tending his hostage’s, Mónica Gaztambide, gunshot wound in her leg. It all started one night in April when I found my sister watching the show in our home theater. My love for La Casa De Papel/Money Heist is like Sergio Marquina’s love for Raquel Murillo – unplanned. I did not initially intend to become emotionally attached to the Spanish crime-drama. WARNING: Spoilers ahead for all seasons of Netflix’s Money Heist.
